8x10 inch Hardcover Book
A book design based on Pat Kirkham's "Designers of the Twentieth Century," Power of Two is a 65-page handmade book that summarizes the story of Charles and Ray Eames. The book has eight chapters, each displaying a different aspect of Eames Design. This book's design and layout are heavily influenced by Swiss-type design; each chapter was designed with grid systems and information display that is both functional and decorative, a design style that perfectly reflects the work of Charles and Ray Eames. Each page was cut, glued, and then sewn together in a Coptic stitch method to ensure the book could lie flat. The title Power of Two is a play on their most famous work, the short film Powers of Ten. Power of Two is a book that shows how Eames Design was not just one person, but how Ray and Charles working together played a crucial role in making the brand what it is today.
